PMBWELD301 – Butt Weld Polyethylene Plastic Pipelines

This unit of competency outlines the skills and theoretical knowledge required to butt weld polyethylene plastic pipelines. The course is appropriate for people working in the mining sector especially process technicians and personnel involved in dewatering, as well as anyone working in gas and water infrastructure and pipeline construction.

This course meets the requirements of (Butt fusion) of Polyethylene (PE) pipelines and piping components in accordance with the Australian Guidelines POP003, AS4130, AS4131 and ISO21307(E).

COURSE CONTENT

Each unit of competency will contain:

  • Theory & Practical Training
  • SWMS
  • Task Calculation Sheets
  • JSA/Risk Assessment
  • All resources required to conduct electrofusion and butt welding

PMBWELD302 – Electrofusion weld polyethylene pipelines

This unit of competency outlines the skills and theoretical knowledge required to electrofusion weld polyethylene pipelines plastic pipelines. The unit applies to electrofusion welding of pipes and pipeline systems within the civil, plumbing, oil, gas, engineering and manufacturing industries

This course is delivered in accordance with Australian Guidelines POP001, AS4129, AS4130, AS4131.

Poly Welding Dual Accreditation
(PMBWELD301, PMBWELD302)

This course will provide students with dual accreditation in Polyethylene welding, the course includes both Butt and Electrofusion welding accreditation (PMBWELD301, PMBWELD302)

The course will:

  • Provide you with a strong understanding of polyethylene pipe products and fittings relevant to Butt and Electrofusion welding requirements
  • Is designed for those with current industry experience in the installation and maintenance of polyethylene pipeline systems, especially in the civil, mining, oil & gas, plumbing and engineering industries
  • Develop a strong pathway for further growth within your current job
    role and or provide new opportunities for those looking to get into
    the civil, plumbing, mining, gas and manufacturing industries

ENSURE YOUR INDUSTRY CURRENCY

Poly welding tickets are valid for 3 years from the date you completed your initial accreditation. Re-accreditation must be completed 6 months prior to the date that your current poly welding ticket expires.

WHAT DOES THE RE-ACCREDITATION COVER?

Our re-accreditation course will cover the latest industry standards and upgrades relating to both Electrofusion and Butt Welding. The course will consist of theory based learning and assessment and a practical observation of two welds completed in your workplace or via video evidence.

PRE-REQUISITES

Students must currently hold a statement of attainment in either Electrofusion or Butt Welding (whichever re-accreditation you are undertaking); a copy of this must be provided on enrolment.
