USI Number – Information on how to obtain

From 1 January 2015 if you are undertaking nationally recognised training you will need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This includes all students who are continuing a course they started prior to 2015, and all new students.

Why do I need a USI Number?

When students register for VET, they are required to provide their USI number to the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) so the RTO can report the student’s training information to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research on completion of training. This information will then become available from the student’s online portal. Anyone enrolling to study VET in Australia needs a USI number, USI numbers are a mandatory requirement.

How do I get a USI Number?

You can obtain a USI number instantly via an online application. When you sign up to training with Prestige Service Training, you will be directed to the online application if you do not have a USI. To complete your application, you will need at least one form of acceptable identification:

  • Driver’s Licence
  • Medicare Card
  • Australian Passport
  • Visa (with Non-Australian Passport)
    for international students
  • Australian Birth Certificate
    (Birth Certificate extract is not sufficient)
  • Certificate Of Registration By Descent
  • Citizenship Certificate
  • ImmiCard

How do I access my USI online portal?

To access your USI online portal, you must first activate your account.

You can then log in to your online portal at any time to access your training records and manage your account.

Please note that your USI account will not include records from before 1 January 2015 as the system is not designed to back-capture. However, if you find that there are records missing from your account, please check with your training organisation about when they will provide an updated report to NCVER.

Fee Information

One Step Furthers Refund Policy is designed to protect fees of all participants. All courses require payment (or deposit) to be made at time of booking and or enrolment. All cancellations or variations to course bookings must be received in writing. Non-attendance at any of One Step Further’s face to face courses will attract an administration cost equivalent to the full course cost.

There is no refund to participants who are deemed ‘Not Yet Competent’ after the assessment.

One Step Further’s private training course fee structure and cancellation policies are outlined in the relevant organisation proposals.

One Step Further reserves the right to cancel and or postpone any course. Should this occur, the payee is entitled to a full refund or re-schedule of training (if available) at no extra charge. One Step Further will not be liable for any claims arising from course cancellation.

Payment Plans

One Step Further understands that paying for study can sometimes be difficult; this is why we offer hassle free, flexible payment plans for our students. Our payment plans require an initial deposit which is your resource and administration fee; from there you have the opportunity to pay a fee per unit of competence studied.

Course: Certificate III in Tourism

Course Cost – $2,440.00

Deposit – $220.00

Remaining – $2,220.00 divided by 11 units of competency within the course = 11 payments of $201.81
