Qualification Pathways

The Certificate III in Hospitality is the lead up to Certificate IV in Hospitality , the Diploma of Hospitality. 

Candidates, who complete units of competency from within these qualifications can, subject to conditions at the time of applying, seek credit against Hospitality courses at many of our leading universities.

Course Content

For this qualification you are required to complete eight (8) core units of competency and eight (8) elective units of competency, making a total of 16 units of competency.

Your must choose six (6) of the eight (8) electives from either Specialisation Group A - Food and Beverage, Specialisation Group B - Accommodation Services, or Specialisation Group C - Gaming. The remaining units may be selected from the general elective units as set out in the qualification package or any endorsed Training Package. 

In all cases, selection of electives must be guided by job outcomes sought, local industry requirements and the characteristics of this qualification.

A maximum of one (1) language other than English unit may be counted as an elective within this qualification.

Course Duration

Each person undertaking this qualification brings their own education and skills levels to the table, impacting on the overall time taken to complete their course.

Generally the Certificate III in Hospitality can be offered either in a classroom environment over twelve (12) weeks, through a traineeship over 12 to 18 months or self paced by a combination of on-the-job and tutorial study.

With the on-line web-based learning facilities and trainer support, all Institute of Excellence students have the capacity to complete their training in real-time yet at a pace that is reflective of their learning requirements.
