SIT30516 – Certificate III in Events

ABOUT THE QUALIFICATION

The SIT30516 Certificate III in Events is seen as the first step towards an exciting and fulfilling career in the Events Management industry.

Successful candidates who have completed this course have gone on to work in Professional Conference Organisations, Exhibition and Event Management Companies, Sporting Associations and related Hospitality organisations. This qualification gives you an insight into the Events Management industry as well as providing a platform for further study to enable a greater choice of employment options.

QUALIFICATION PATHWAYS

SIT30516 Certificate III in Events is the lead up to SIT50516 Diploma of Events and SIT60516 Advanced Diploma of Events.

Candidates, who complete units of competency from within these qualifications can, subject to conditions at the time of applying, seek credit against Events courses at many of our leading universities. Please speak with our Learning & Development Manager if you are interested in pursuing this option at the completion of your course.

COURSE CONTENT

For this qualification you are required to complete six (6) core units of competency and seven (7) elective units of competency, making a total of thirteen (13) units of competency. Your eight (7) elective units may be selected from the general elective units as set out in the qualification package or any endorsed Training Package. In all cases, selection of electives must be guided by job outcomes sought, local industry requirements and the characteristics of this qualification.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course is delivered over 6-12 months depending on experience, current employment status and hours per week committed to study.

Course content is delivered online via our E-Learning system and consistent trainer support will be provided across the life time of the course including email and phone support, Skype and Webinar sessions and face to face practical training sessions.

SIT50316 – Diploma of Event Management

ABOUT THE QUALIFICATION

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a broad range of event management skills, including significant communication, planning and organisational skills. This is underpinned by a detailed knowledge of the event management process.

Event organisation and management takes place across full spectrum of business and community activity. The qualification has particular relevance in the community, cultural, hospitality, sporting and tourism sectors. Work would be undertaken in both an office environment where event planning and organisation takes place, and at event site.

The qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate the work of self or team.

QUALIFICATION PATHWAYS

Individuals with this qualification are able to work in a range or organisations where event management takes place and such organisations are diverse in nature.

Examples include professional conference organisers, exhibition and event management companies, sporting associations, community organisations, hospitality and cultural venues. Possible job titles include event coordinator, venue coordinator, conference coordinator and exhibitions coordinator.
